Hole 7 The Jetty

After your walk from the 6th green you come to the newest part of the course. Laid out in the late 1970s. From here you  have picturesque views of the superb Milford Haven waterway. The Jetty hole is a par 5 with a slight dog leg to the right. The tee shot has to be played blind, a marker post is situated at the top of the rise in the middle of the fairway and is the best line to take.  A good drive should take you on to the fairway in the region of the first young fir tree.  A fairway wood from here should get you within a mid-iron range of the green. Be careful not to go too far left as the fairway slopes to the left which makes the ball run further from the green.  Also in range of the second shot is a complex of three bunkers situated to the right hand side of the fairway.  Two of them are partially on the fairway the third one, which is the largest is in the rough.

To the right hand side of the rough there are out of bounds markers to protect golfers who are coming up the 8th fairway. These are shown in red on the hole planner but are marked by white posts on the course. Overhead electricity wires pass over the course at this point.  Any ball hitting these wires must be replayed without penalty.  There is a steep bank in front of the green with an even steeper one at the back. The slope at the back of the green is usually kept cut short so that any ball running through the green goes to the bottom of the slope making it a difficult shot back to the green and costing the golfer at least one shot.  The green itself is quite large and level and should cause no problems.
