Gents Section
On Saturday 4th February no golf was played as the greens were still frozen and the heavy rain just sitting on the top of the greens made play impossible; the winter league games that were to be played on the Saturday 4th February will now be played on Saturday 11th February
The quarter finals matches of the winter league are as follows.
Barry Harding & Steve Youds v Lyndon Brown & Gerald Slate
Andrew Arnold & Tim Phillips v Alan Dennison & Richard Hull
Paul Kingston & John Price v Paul & Liam Eva
Lea Nicholas & Ian McCarthy v Gareth Phillips & Steve Warlow
The second round of the stableford Plate competition and a stableford competition for the non winter league players a will also be played on Saturday 11th February.
The draw for the semi finals of the winter league will take place on Saturday 11th February after completion of the quarter finals and will be played on Sunday 12th February.
Senior Section

On Thursday 2nd February the senior section held a stableford competition roll up; with no buggies allowed on the course because of the frozen ground with the greens very hard but it did not stop twenty six of the senior section taking part.
The winner on the day was Mike Brooks with 38 points.
Results;
1st Mike Brooks 38 points
2nd Billy Hier 37 points (back 9 19 points)
3rd Gary Kimber 37 points (back 9 17 points)
In the two’s competition the only player with a two was Chris Oliver.
Senior members are reminded that their section membership is now due at a cost of £7.50 please pay Gareth Rees (secretary)
The presentation was carried out by seniors captain Rob Graham who told the seniors about his short visit to Poland.
This coming Thursday 9th February will be a Bogey competition roll up; first draw will be at 10.30 am.
Seniors Captain’s Presentation

On Thursday 2nd February the seniors Captain Robbie Graham presented the immediate past seniors Captain Dick Wooding with a Photograph album of his captaincy year at Milford Haven golf club in 2011
The album was prepared by Owain Picton who was unable to attend the presentation.
Junior Section
Juniors please note that golf coaching is now available at the club on every Saturday from 14.00 -15.00 until further notice under the guidance of assistant professional Elliot Harding the cost will be £3.00 per session

Gents Section
On Saturday 28th January a stableford competition was played by the non winter league players the results was as follows;
1st Daniel Arnopp-Rees 45 points
2nd Steve George 42 points
In the two’s competition five players recorded two’s each two was worth £3.00 in pro shop credit;
Daniel Arnopp-Rees; Bryn Gee; Frank Rimmer; Tony Potter; Brian Broome.
The presentation was carried out by club Captain Tony Goodridge
Winter League
On Saturday 28th January the winter league played the first round in the knock out stages with the top sixteen teams doing battle; the results was as follows;
Rolly Council (senior) & Martyn Price lost to Alan Dennison & Richard Hull
Gwyn Scale & Mike Durward lost to Andrew Arnold & Tim Phillips
Paul Kingston & John Price beat Wayne Cooper
Paul & Liam Eva beat Alex Youds & Matthew O’kell
Simon Nicholas & Stephan Hull-Palmer lost to Lyndon Brown & Gerald Slate
Shaun Dyson & Alan Summons lost to Lea Nicholas & Ian McCarthy
Phil Davies & Tony Davey lost Barry Harding & Steve Youds
Gareth Phillips & Steve Warlow beat Michael Bevis & Adam Bayjoo
The draw for the quarter finals of the winter league was made and will be played on Saturday 4th February;

The presentation of the winter league was carried out by the organiser John Price.

Race Night at the Club
An excellent Race night evening for members and their guests was held at the club on last Friday evening 27th January very well organised by Tim Phillips

Senior Section
On Thursday 16th January the senior section held a stableford competition roll up; with no buggies allowed on the course because of wetness of the ground; twenty three players took part, unfortunately the competition had to be abandoned as not all the players had completed their rounds when very heavy sleet and hail along with thunder came which sent the seniors running towards the club house for shelter and a pint.
The two’s competition was counted with Jack Jenkins and Dick Wooding (jnr) sharing the kitty.

This coming Thursday 2nd February will be a stableford roll up competition first draw will be at 10.30 am.
