Course Manager Bio

MHGC Course ManagerKevin Rawlins is the Course Manager of Milford Haven Golf Club and has been in the position since 2001, he oversees the running of the golf course including day to day management in line with the golf course standards policy. He is also responsible for the ongoing planning and development of the course through a detailed tasks list.

Kevin comes with a wealth of knowledge having studied greenkeeping and sports turf management at college from the age of 16, he also learned his trade working on some of the top courses in England most notably 5 years at the Wentworth club where he was heavily involved in the preparation of the West course for multiple PGA and World Matchplay events.

This experience secured his first Course Manager’s role at the age of 26 in Northern Ireland where he learned the different challenges involved with running a smaller golf course.

His desire to challenge himself led him to West Wales and Milford Haven where he saw the potential of a hidden gem that could be developed into one of the best courses in Wales. His skills and knowledge of tournament golf saw him called up to Celtic Manor in 2013. Due to the severe weather he was tasked with being a team leader to get holes back into play which after 4 gruelling days saw Europe emerge victorious. To this day Kevin still talks about his experience there and his claim to fame of walking the fairways alongside the final pairing of Graeme McDowell and Hunter Mahan as their official bunker raker.

Kevin always gives 100% in whatever he does and has never shied away from a challenge which carries across to his private life where he is an accomplished endurance athlete who has completed numerous marathons across the country again challenging himself in some of the toughest races most notably around Mount Snowdon, also during the summer months he can be found off the coast relaxing and catching the odd wave to surf.

His heart clearly belongs to Wales where the beautiful countryside and coastlines have now become his playground and place of work and where he now calls home!!!!!

A genuine surprise when I stumbled across it last spring. Milford Haven is packed with variety and interest both on and off the course. A hidden Welsh Gem.

Excellent course. Very challenging. Greens true and quick. Great golfing day out with some incredible views.

Just wanted to say what a fantastic course MHGC is. In addition to the great hospitality there is a great course which offers a great challenge.

A real gem of a golf course and a very friendly welcome too. The course makes great use of the topography, thoughtfully designed and challenging even for lower handicaps. Quite a few holes where course knowledge a definite advantage. Highly recommend a visit.

★★★★★, Excellent golf course with great practice facilities, the course was in brilliant condition and the new 18th hole is a great closing hole. The pro, Bar and club members are friendly before and after your round. Food and beers are excellent value with the food being great quality. We had Sunday lunch the 3 courses were fantastic, piping hot and full of flavour. We will be returning and recommending to friends.
